The Information Problem
While the information problem is widely acknowledged, it is not something that is easily resolved. More information is not answer, nor is more raw information processing power. The disconnect between the amount of information that can be created and the information that can be processed by a combination of humans and machines is a big gap and it is getting bigger. Maybe artificial intelligence will solve this problem or maybe it will make it worse. Since information is not static, it surfaces at different moments in time and has a different effect depending on who sees it and who reports on it. Different viewpoints on the same information cause people to take vastly different actions. It is natural to expect that artificial intelligence will process information in a similar way.
