Systems run on data. Systems produce data. But it is not necessarily the same data.
You need a system to look at the systems data.
Where does the need for systems end?
It is infinite,.perpetual and self fulfilling.
The good news is that because there are so many systems it is nearly impossible to rig the system.
The bad news is that any minor disruption in the system could have major effects elsewhere in the system.
