Missing Data
Data has a tendency to go missing. It is not supposed to. We try to be careful and deliberate with it, but somehow something happens. A preference or a setting got changed somewhere.
The problem is that some of our systems have gotten so big, our control systems for these systems have become enormous and granular. Granularity is powerful, but sometimes I think that makes us lose sight of the big picture.
